About the Society
Warwick Banking & Finance is the central hub at the University of Warwick for students interested in a banking or finance career. With the backing of a number of city firms and organisations within the university, we are dedicated to helping you build a professional profile and succeed in breaking into the industry via 5 overarching aims:
- Increase your industry knowledge
- We have partnered with Vault and WallStreetOasis.com to give you full access to their comprehensive guides free of charge!
- A number of senior people from our sponsor banks will be holding talks on specialist subjects throughout the year.
- For the 3rd year running, the Exec will be running the Financial Markets Course in Term 2, as well as the newly formed FT Club. See Events page for more info.
- Give you the tools to submit winning applications every time
- Warwick Careers, as well as HR from our sponsor banks themselves, will be holding CV/Application workshops and skills sessions
- We will be posting a number of useful resources in the Members Area, including "How To Land a Summer Internship" compiled by our Exec for you
- Maximise your chances of converting interviews and assessment centres into offers
- The Summer and Spring Internship Fairs, when you will get to meet students that have successfully been through the process, will prove to be invaluable
- HR from our sponsor banks will be holding Mock Interviews, and for the first time at Warwick, Mock Assessment Centres
- Help you to make the right choices and the most of your experience once given an offer
- We will be inviting our sponsor banks in Term 3 to share advice on how to maximise summer internships and graduate programmes
- We are currently compiling a database of firms and students that have previously interned/worked there, whom you can contact for personal advice
- In a nutshell, to provide Warwick students with an excellent support system throughout the transition from university to working life
- The Exec is dedicated to giving you the resources and advice to help you minimise common mistakes and maximise your chances of breaking into the industry
Warwick Finance Societies
In association with WBS (Warwick Business School), WBF is a founding member of the Warwick Finance Societies which is a consortium consisting of WBF, WAIPES: Warwick Alternative Investments & Private Equity Society, WIC: Warwick Investment Club and WIF: Warwick Investment Forum.
WFS provides members with the opportunity to enhance their competitiveness through finance education and careers guidance that will help them enter any area of finance, and excel at their future careers.
